Happy Birthday America!!

I love the Fourth of July, and I love it even more when we can spend it with family and friends. We have this little tradition of going to Fairfield in the morning and watching the local parade. This year we had a lot of family that came to watch as-well and it was nice. The kids were so good about standing whenever the "colors" were presented and even when military veterans came through, it was nice to see that. Here are a few pics from the parade.

This is a picture of the Fairfield High School marching band bus, 1994 is the year that I marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. My big claim to fame I suppose, even though I would never do it again. My mom is so cute though because every year, no matter who we are sitting next to, she has to tell a stranger that I marched in that band for four years and went to the Rose Parade...makes me blush every time, no not really. She is just so excited to tell people...I love you mom!!

After the parade we went to Staceys house and had lunch and hung out for a while. From there we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Collins house to rest and have dinner before the fireworks. We even sang happy birthday to Craig because his birthday is coming soon and we were all together...good planning on someones part. I am never that efficient.

Than it was off to the fireworks in Vacaville. Brody and Cambree really liked the fireworks, I was so surprised. When Emery and Kelci were that little they would scream and cry and hide under blankets. We were fairly close and Brody would just let out a chuckle every time a firework went off. Emery and Kelci did happily watch them, but of course had there ears plugged, can't win them all I suppose! Some were a little loud for me, but when your 32 it looks a little strange to be plugging your ears ;)Over all it was great day, we were sad that we didn't get to see Jenna and Ang and Jeremy and the kids...that would have made it perfect for us. I'm thankful for this great nation we live in, for the freedoms that are ours to enjoy, and I know they did not happen without sacrifice from so many willing to serve for our country...thank you to them.

Awww, c'mon, you wouldn't want to march that 5 mile trek in our awesome uniforms again?! It was pretty cool though, wasn't it? At least to do once. I've been thinking about renting an oboe and joining the local orchestra here. I sure do miss playing next to you though! Good times, my friend; good times.

It looks like you had so much fun. And that picture of you and your mom is cute. I do have to say though, that if you had covered your ears at the fireworks, I probably would've made fun of you. ;) When did we grow up!?!

okay jenelle we must be having some kind of youth withdrawls, because I was telling Jeremy how I wish I could take some dance classes like Ballet or Jazz....probably a jazz class. I think I feel inspired by that one Torres swimmer girl who qualified for the Olympics.
Anyways thanks for sharing all your pictures. Looks like you had fun.
Fourth of July is and will be one of my favorite Holidays, especially having married into a military family.
Am, you are so lucky to have so much extended family around yours. Never take it for granted (not saying you do) although you guys didnt do anything over exciting for the 4th, but you can tell by the photos all the happy memories that are being made just by being together. love ya much
