Melons!

Brody loves the movie "Bolt" There is one scene where Bolt is in NY having a conversation with some pigeons. The pigeons are talking about how Bolt got his Melon stuck and trying to help demostrate how to get his "Melon" unstuck. Lately Brody runs around the house saying "he's got his melon stuck." It's so cute, I love it.
Saturday we were at the farmers market picking up some good stuff. I set my watermelon on top of the stroller and was trying to balance it the whole time while pushing through a lot of people. When we got to the curb and started to go down, of course the watermelon rolled off and hit Brody right on top of his "Melon." He started to cry for a minute, but as soon as I said, "Hey Brody did your melon get hit by a melon?" he looked up and started to laugh. Good thing for Bolt, or we would have had another emotional meltdown to deal with.

Go Colts!!!

"Mommy, can we just make this day disappear?" This is the question Emery asked me over and over again on Sunday. She was so excited for school to be starting the next day, she could hardly sleep or keep busy. I'm so glad the girls love going to school. I know the hype will wear off someday, but for now they can't get enough. Emery is going into fourth grade, she is so independent right now. She did her own hair and got her stuff all together without being reminded.

Kelci will be in 3rd grade this year and is so excited to have the same teacher Emery had last year....Yea Mrs. Patton. Yesterday we were talking about her first day and she told me they had a little test. I remember this test from when Emery took it last year, she didn't do so well. Anyways, Kelci told me there was one hundreds on it (probably adding or subtracting them or something...not sure). She said, "Mommy we didn't learn those last year, they are hard." So I asked her if she wanted to review them and see if she could recall doing them from last year, her reply was, "Na,I will learn it later mommy." Well, I can see that I am needed here.

I have never really understood back to school shopping. My girls always seem to need new clothes when the winter starts, not right now. But we did find some great deals on some shoes a couple of weekends ago. Only $7.99 for these super cute sketchers...and there was no sales tax that day...I love these kind of moments.

Kelci's surgery

I know it's been almost a week since Kelci had her surgery, but never late than never. Kelci had surgery to remove those large pesky adenoids that were making her sound like she was stuffy all the time. The dr. also did a couple of other minor procedures as-well. Kelci did great, I was so happy that none of her anxiety took over and she was able to be so relaxed.


Everything went great as far as the surgery goes. It only took about an hour. She came out of the anthesia a little upset, but as soon as we were able to get to her bedside she was fine. We were so pleased how well she did before and after the whole thing. It really helped that she felt so much love and concern from her family. Auntie Stacey, Mema, and the girls came up to help watch the rest of the crew and were there to greet Kelci when she came home. Grandma and Grandpa Collins sent her get well flowers that brought a big smile to her face. But of course her biggest grin came when Daddy brought her a stuffed teddy bear after the surgery. She has healed up very quickly and only had to take some pain meds one time. As for the way she sounds when she talks, not so much as changed yet, mostly due to the fact that there is some swelling and drainage going on in her nose.

Bugs!

Well we have had to make some changes to room assignments around here during the past year. So currently Brody and Cambree sleep and share a room, the "purple room" I like to call it. So of course this isn't going to work for the two of them. My playroom use to be decorated in raggedy ann and andy, but I decided we need to have something else for Brody and Cambree. So we are going with BUGS! Both of the kids love bugs. Cambree loves all the butterflies of course and still confuses flys with bees. Brody loves all bugs, and for some reason finds a lot of joy in smashing them, and watching mommy kill flies with the fly swatter. Usually he will bring me his latest victim all smashed on the end of his finger, so sweet. So here is the first project on the list for our transformation into a big heaven.

Every night when Brody lays down, he has to tell me all about the bugs in the picture, it's really cute, but it's difficult to get him to stop talking about it and go to sleep. Of course the next step is painting the room...can't have a purple bug room!!

Brandon Clark Collins

Here are a few pictures I took of Brandon the other day. He was so alert the whole time, but perfectly content with us messing with him the whole time. We were even able to take his diaper off without any accidents, although I won't post that on her without permission hehe. All I have to say is you gotta luv those cheeks.

Bath Time

I thought the point of the bath was to get clean!!


Okay, there is something funny about this. Notice all the marks are on Brody, Cambree told me when I walked into the bathroom to check on them that Brody wrote all over himself. But when I turned him around to wash his hair, there were crayon marks on his back as-well. I'm pretty sure he couldn't have done that on his own.

Who me??

I just love his little expression in this picture. This guy is just growing so fast, today I discovered he is cutting his first tooth. He is trying to sit up a little now, but it doesn't last very long. Here is a picture of what happened right after I took this picture.

He rolled!!

This happened during dinner, but that didn't stop his sisters from running to be by his side to celebrate his first official rollover.
P.S. Landry I'm still waiting for the best trick of all....a good nights sleep...please??
