Bye Bye California license
Today was a crazy day, although most days feel this way lately. However I finally made it to the DMV and took my drivers license test for the state of Utah. I PASSED, and for some odd reason it felt really good to pass. Apparently it has been awhile since I have had to take a test or something. Any who, we are one step closer to Emery having a car to drive. Now we can switch our insurance to a Utah carrier and hopefully save some money by doing so. Sadly, I had to surrender my California license, as I watched the guy poke two holes in my license, I was sad. Don't get me wrong we enjoy Utah but California will always be home.

Presendential Expert
Landry has been learning about all the former Presidents of the United States. It has been fun to watch him be so excited about all the interesting facts he has learned. Yesterday he told me that George Washington didn't have any teeth and thats why he doesn't smile much. He also told me that Abe Lincoln was a very nice guy and always tried to help people. He has memorized which number president was who, which I could never do. I love that he loves to learn and hope that sticks for awhile.

A Cali Surprise
Couple of days before the Martins made their trek to Utah. Lorie called and let me know that she was going to send Cali a day early with Whitney Bennion, another friend from Yuba City. We decided to keep it a secret from our girls. Of course, I'm terrible about coming up with a "good lie" to get Kelci out late, in a car, driving towards Salt Lake. Earlier in the day, Kelci kept complaining that her cell phone was about to break and that she really needed a new phone. So at the last minute I decided to have Bryan tell her he was taking her to look at a discount cell phone store in Salt Lake. It worked, Kelci was not expecting to stop and see Whitney and certainly not Cali. Of course, the first thing she said was, "do I still get a new phone?" After the happy reunion, they headed to Pleasant Grove High School to surprise Emery, who had been at a swim meet all afternoon at BYU.

Soldier Hollow
Solider Hollow is a really fun place in Midway, UT to go tubing. I came across some cheaper tickets and decided to plan an afternoon of fun for the family. Sadly, the same day we had tickets, Emery had a big Chemistry homework assignment she was working on with friends and she had to miss going with us. It felt very strange to have to to leave her in Pleassant Grove while we went and had fun. Despite feeling bummed that Emery couldn't come, we had a good time. All of us went down the hill about 3-4 times. It was a little cold, so I was kind of glad to be done when we were. I'm such a whimp in the cold. My favorite part of the afternoon was watching Bryan's tube come unhooked on the cable pulling him up the hill. He drifted down a slight hill in the wrong direction, made me laugh.

Betsy Ross
Cambree dressed up and learned all about Betsy Ross for her 5th grade wax museum. She did a great job, she always amazes me what she accomplishes all on her own. The only thing I did was make her the cute bonnet on her head. Which I have to say I was pretty proud of myself. I also sent her to school with as many appropriate antiques I could find around the house, she told me later that her teacher gave her extra credit for the decorations.
