T-ball!!!

Easter at Preschool

One of the things I love about teaching preschool at home is the fact that I get to slow down and have some fun. Lately I have been trying to clean and declutter our house because we are going to be trying to sell it. Emery said that I need to spend less time cleaning and more time doing fun stuff. I know she didn't mean it to sound rude or anything, it's true. There has just been a lot to do around this little shack. So I was excited to learn that I would be able to throw our Easter party at preschool.

We dyed eggs, which the kids loved! Ate yummy bunny sugar cookies, made easter eggs out of yarn and had a fun egg hunt in the front yard. We can't do it in the backyard....too many chocolate eggs out there. hehe. The weather has been beautiful lately, nice and sunny. I love how the kids can't keep there eyes closed for all three pictures because it was so bright.

Stuck in my nose!

Lately whenever we get into the van to go anywhere, there is a battle over the seats. I'm not going to bore anyone with details, but it is annoying to sort out every time. The other day Cambree and Brody were in the backseat and Cambree had been crying about something. She was all of a sudden complaining there was a booger stuck in the left side of her nose. She gets a little worked up about anything that doesn't feel normal. So I calmly told her that she should try and pick it out...or just wait and maybe it would come out later. I was thinking in my head that it has been awhile since I have had to give booger advice. She said that wasn't working and that it was still stuck. A few minutes later I heard Brody trying to offer some advice. He told her when he has a booger he just wipes his nose with his arm....(you know the motion us mothers love)...like this, and he showed her. Than he said or just wait till it comes out later Cambree....he was serious about this. For some reason in the middle of this conflict, I just started to laugh and of course Emery who was riding in the front seat started laughing too. Soon Kelci joined in and we just couldn't stop laughing about stuck boogers. My poor Cambree didn't think it was funny, I was trying to explain to her that we weren't laughing at her, it's just funny that we are trying to solve a booger problem. It did help make for a more enjoyable ride to Walmart though.

Stop, Drop, & Roll

Here are some recent shots of our preschool trip to the Firehouse.

The kids were practicing all the important safety steps including, crawling across the floor to avoid smoke, and stop, drop, and roll. The fireman also taught them that when he comes into the house he will yell, "Is anyone in here?" The kids were suppose to respond by yelling, "I'm over here, over here!!" Brody was impressed by all this, he concentrated on the fireman talking the whole time. He was a little concerned when the station received a call in the middle of our tour and our fireman had to suit up and take off. He kept asking me when he is coming back. The good news for Brody was, he did come back and he even got to take a picture with his new hero!

This day we were also celebrating Jaxson's 5th birthday and were planning on going to the park at our time at the firestation. His mom, who was working at the school prepared cupcakes for all the kids. Unfortunately, Jaxsons dad thought it would be nice for Jaxson to offer the firemen a cupcake. Of course they misunderstood him (because he's small and quiet) and thought he was giving them all the cupcakes. So the firemen made off with all the preschool kids cupcakes....haha. This made me laugh and Jaxsons dad was cracking up as-well. I'm sure the firemen enjoyed there treats and Jaxson felt great sharing them.

Today

Today was one of those days that I just wished I could be a kid again. You know just spend all day playing barbies, watching cartoons, or even enjoying a bowl of cheetos (I know I could still do that as an adult, but I have too much guilt about it now).

Being an adult is just tiring and stressful sometimes. Sure there are perks, we get to listen to no one but ourselves, go shopping for whatever we need without asking permission. Cambree told me this morning, that I tell her what to do about everything. It made me think for a minute....do I? I really do try and let her make choices and I also try to be fair. But I won't get into that discussion. However, this morning I was feeling like it would be kind of nice to have someone telling me what to do. Someone with some experience and knowledge. I feel like I keep getting surprises thrown at me, and as an adult surprises are kind of scary. Just some good sound advice would be helpful sometimes. I hope I have some good sound advice for my kids when they are older....well I guess I could warn them to not make the mistakes I made. But that doesn't seem to be very helpful. I know I'm rambling on, but it's my blog and I'm allowed too.

Tonight while reading books, Brody was impressing me with his knowledge of the alphabet. We were reading a book called, "Who lives in the Rain Forest?" He was pointing at each letter in the title telling me what they were.....he sounded like this:
W, H, zero (me, Brody it's an O because it is a letter),oh ok, L, one (me, no remember these are letters, it's an i) V, E, Snakey S.....he got to the last T and said a tapping T and the mystery letter (the question mark)...that's a mystery uh mommy....yes it is Brody (no reason to start an argument this late at night). I love the learning process he is undergoing. His curiosity again reminds me how much fun it was to be a kid!

Just Dance

The kids having a wild and crazy dance party one afternoon....I don't know where they get there weirdness from haha!!

Stay Outside!

Maggie came to the back door in this condition the other day....um yea, your not coming in puppy! I think I would be just fine if the rain would just stop for a little while.

Landry's TWO!!!

This post is going to make me a little sad. My baby, Landry, just turned two years old. Why does time have to do this.....I mean slow down, you don't have to always be in a hurry.

We decided to keep his celebration simple and decided to just have a quiet night at home on his actual birthday. Hopefully nobody was offended by not being invited to a party, but I just wasn't up to having a big party and I know Landry doesn't care. Maybe it all has something to do with my depression about him getting older, or lack of organizational skills and party planning skills....all of it sounded like a good excuse to me to keep it simple.

Lately he has been into a new show on Disney called "The Neverland Pirates." So I decided I would make him a pirate cake. My cake decorating skills are pretty bad, but since we weren't having a large crowd, there were less people to judge haha. No, this pattern was pretty easy to follow, thanks to Betty Crocker. Brody and Cambree had a great time helping me decorate the cake. They kept telling me he looked like Mr. Smead...I think it was the stripes.

One of his favorite gifts was a little pair of Mickey and Minnie figurines that came with little cars. He looks for these toys everyday and will sit and talk with them for a good amount of time. It is really cute to watch.

Craig and Chrystina and the boys came up to visit for the day, and it was nice to have them here while we sang Happy Birthday. Brandon and Landry are about 4 months apart in age and we always have fun watching them play together. I wish they could be around eachother more. While Brandon was here he found one of Landrys pacifiers in his crib, he put it in his hand, looked at it, and said as clear as day....."What the heck?" So cute! I love that kid.

Yarn!

We woke up one Saturday morning to find this little ditty all over the yard....YARN!!! The kids thought it was pretty cool looking. It was everywhere and soaked from the rain over night. I walked outside to get a closer look and found these..... I just started to laugh and of course knew instantly who had been over here having some fun with yarn. I sent the suspect a text message with a picture and asked them if there were missing any scissors....haha. Really it made my whole morning, so thanks guys for making me smile....I love ya!
