Feeling Guilty

I'm feeling quilty that I am picking on Cambree. Two years old is such an interesting time. Really I would just like to post for the record that there are those moments that she truly makes me smile. She will often say things that surprise me and give me hope that we will make it to three years old. Today we were going to Bel-Air to pick up a prescription for my annoying cough I've had for 3 1/2 weeks. She was so excited because she knows when we go to Bel-a?? that we are going to get a cookie from Joe in the bakery. She couldn't stop talking about it. Yesterday she realized about the time that we were sitting down to dinner, that Kelci wasn't home. She came to me and said in a very concerned voice, "Mommy Kelci not here, she still at scool (school). We need to find her mommy." I reassured her that Kelci was at Gymnastics with her little friend Chloe. She is always aware of her big sisters and loves to be around them.

Happy Birthday Bryan

I know as you get older sometimes it is not fun to celebrate another year older, but yet I think secretly we all love to have a that special day to call our own....well for me I share, but have never minded that. Happy Birthday 32nd Bryan, you are an awesome Husband and Daddy to us...we hope it was great.

No the cake is not on fire, that is what it looks like when you light 32 candles...don't worry he survived blowing them out. He's thinking before he opened his present that a set of golf clubs could actually fit in this box, but believe me he was over joyed to see it was an edger/trimmer, cordless one even, in the box. (no really I'm serious he wanted this;)

Does Bribery Ever Work

I was thinking this morning while I giving Cambree a bath, how can I avoid a total meltdown while washing her hair. I have tried using a bribe and that didn't really go over to well. I think one time I offered her jelly beans if we could wash our hair without crying, screaming, etc. It started ok, for a few seconds of course, and than all the screaming kicked in. When we got out of the bathtub she looked at me and said, "Jelly Beans." Of course holding firm to my agreement I said no, you don't get any jelly beans because you cried while I washing your hair. Of course she only heard the no part, and not my reason and proceeded to now cry and scream about that. So today as I am washing her hair, she started her usual protest, I didn't say anything. I got her out and she looked at me and said, "Jelly Beans." I thought oh great here we go again....I don't even currently have jelly beans in the house right now. This bribe I'm referring to, only occured one time, I realized real fast it wasn't going to work, so for her to ask again was interesting to me.

The Way I Am

Brody heard this song the other night and all on his little own, just started to dance. It was very cute. Also very appropriate because the song is titled "The Way I Am." Brody does his own thing, and some of you know how frustrating this can be, especially when it comes to napping and eating!!! Enjoy....we love him anyway. Sorry I don't know why it is sideways...

Kolai

We went to visit Ang and family a couple of weeks ago in Monterey. The kids fell in love with her new little puppy Kolai. Now this is actually a slight miracle, because Kelci is terrified of dogs. She has also passed along the reaction to dogs to Cambree, who thinks she is afraid of dogs now. So it was a treat to see her happy holding the puppy and loving every minute of it.

Sick of Being Sick

I'm feeling so bad for my little Kelci. For the second time in two weeks, she has the flu bug. It started with Cambree, than Emery, Kelci, Brody, Cambree again and now Kelci again. What is really going on. I feel like I have washed and disinfected everything in this house, but apparently it's not enough. I feel for Kelci because she has gotten sick the most. Even our car has been sick, the van that is. That is not such a helpful thing around here. So now twice poor Kelci has had to ride in the car with her barf bowl in tow to take the car for repairs. I'm really looking forward to Spring right now. Today the temperature was almost 70 degrees, talk about a teaser.

I don't understand what you are telling me!!

This seemed to be the phrase of the day around here today. Yesterday Cambree spent most of her day quiet and sick. It was sort of nice, although I did feel bad for her. Today was a different story. It was just one of those mornings that I could not stay around the house and listen to anymore whining about nothing. So we packed up and went to the pet store. She whined all the way there, she whined all the way into the pet store from the car, and had a lot of moments throughout the store that she was whining. I felt bad that I couldn't figure out what was bugging her, I kept repeating mommy doesn't understand what you are crying about, but it wasn't helping of course. I think she was just really, really tired, but man it was tiresome to listen to. I really am hoping tomorrow will be a brighter day for her.
