Making the Most of our California Time

Dance Festival

Every year at the kids elementary school, Manila Elementary, they have a dance festival at the end of the year.  The kids spend about a month learning a fun dance and than perform for the whole school and parents to watch.  I love how Brody is looking for bugs while waiting for his music to start, silly boy.  Kelci was the smallest sixth grader at her school, so of course she was chosen to be on the top of the pyramid at the end of her performance.  Unfortunately I wasn't close to her to get a good picture, which I was so bummed about because she was with all of her bestfriends in the pyramid.  I'm already looking forward to next years dances!!

Kate and Ciaran's Wedding

One of the main reasons we went to California was to attend Kate and Ciarans wedding.  They had the wedding in San Francisco and it was a very nice ceremony and reception.  It was great to be able to hang out with our family make memories.  The kids had so much fun dancing the night away.

Mothers Day ~ Canyon Style

Since we live so far from our own Mommies, all I wanted to do for Mothers Day was go to the canyon and enjoy time with Bryan and the kids.  It was the perfect evening, the weather was so nice and the kids had a great time playing by the river.  We are so lucky to live so close to something so peaceful and beautiful.  I think that is one thing I have learned with this move.  Taking time to explore and enjoy the beauty around you will bring you comfort, especially when you are feeling down.  I am so blessed, I don't have reasons to be down, but I'm human and I have felt depressed during different times in my life.  But I'm grateful for my family who help me get through those times.
