Cambree and the Hamburger Farm

Today Cambree and I met up with some other moms at the Bishops Pumpkin Farm for a field trip. Each spring they have a great little tour of there Hamburger Farm. They show the children a lot of things they grow in a garden used to make a hamburger, except the slaughtering of a cow of course. It was perfect weather outside and so nice to just have Cambree (and Landry of course). It's not very often these days that I have a chance to take one child out by themselves. Bryan offered to stay home with Brody, so they even got to spend one on one time together, everyone was happy.

Cambree grinding wheat for the hamburger bun!

Don't worry they told the children these cows are used to make the cheese ;) They even got to try milking a fake cow. Cambree was a little confused about this. I told her it was like Mommmy does with Landry, than she said, but that is coming out of it's bottom.
We also cut up a potato for french fries, picked an onion, and checked out some chickens (not sure what they were far in the whole hamburger process...maybe eggs for the buns...I must not have been listening...opps) After our tour we enjoyed a nice hamburger for lunch and than played on all the slides and tractors around the farm.

What does this pig see in laying in the mud, he even rubbed his nose in it? All-well at least no one is bothering him and he seems completely happy with his life at that moment.

The farm is in the tiny town of Wheatland, right off of hwy 65, just past Lincoln. It is a great Pumpkin patch in the fall too.
