Brody was so excited to have Lucy here to look for bugs with him. I think one morning they spent almost 2 hours outside searching for rollie pollies, millipedes, and worms. Brody was so cute, he couldn't remember how to say millipede, so I heard him outside saying, "Look a melon, I found another melon." He is really going to miss Lucy a lot.
While Ang was staying with us, we went to a mother/daughter activity at the church Sat. morning. It was a lot of fun, we made flower pens, and cute hair clips. Later that afternoon we watched the kids play on the slip-n-slide. After dinner that night we headed over to the softball fields to watch Bryan play a game. Kya was so excited to watch, he has never seen a real softball game. But he is learning about baseball for one of his scouting goals. He asked me when we got there if Uncle Bryan was a rookie, so cute! Luckily Uncle Bryan hit a homerun, this always impresses the kids....oh and me!!
We were not able to travel much while Ang was here, because I don't own a bus (rethinking this)But one of the days Bryan watched the little ones so we could go to the movies to see Oceans and go roller skating afterwards. It was a lot of fun, I was so impressed with how determined all the kids were to learn how to do it...especially Kya and Lucy. They did great. There was a couple of falls, but I think mine takes the cake. Emery ran right into me when I was standing still and I fell hard right onto my tailbone. Wow, talk about pain, I thought I was going to throw-up all night. It is still pretty sore and there is definitely a mark there, but I don't know if I damaged it more than just a bad bruise. I will give it one more week to see how I feel.
One of the things I love about when Ang visits is she loves to help with projects. This is such a daunting task sometimes around here. I am so thankful she is willing and I'm so glad that this t-shirt quilt I have been wanting to put together for a long time is done. It looks great, even after 2 broken sewing machines and a million interruptions. These are all shirts that Bryan and I have saved from high school, college etc. So many memories come to mind when I look at them. I was going to surprise Bryan with it for Father's Days, but, well let's just say it's hard to keep secrets when your projects are this big and you only have 3 days to work on it!!
We miss them so much already, next time we will have to make sure our whole family can get together!
