We were sad at the thought of spending the 4th of July away from all of our family, but having Jed and Shannon and their family here was such a blessing. We had a great time celebrating America's birthday!
Early in the day we went to the movies and did a little shopping at the mall. Later that night we roasted marshmellows, lit sparklers, sat on the rooftop and watched about 30 little firework shows all around us, and even lit some of our own fireworks. Little did I know I should have been paying more attention to Landry and his flu problem. He wasn't getting enough to drink and the next day I had to take him to the ER to get rehydrated. It was so scray and sad to see him feeling so terrible....I felt terrible. Rachel was beginning to feel worse too, so I shared some anti-nausea pills with her, hoping to avoid another trip to the ER. She was so sick for the rest of the trip, poor thing.
The next day I started to feel really sick and couldn't really get out of bed, I felt so bad. Jed and Shannon decided to attempt a trip to Provo that day. The kids and I just laid around all day hoping to feel better soon. The next day I was feeling a little better, but still very tired and had no appetite. We decided to take the kids up to Salt Lake for the day, it was tough. While we were there Cambree started to feel yucky so Bryan and I took some of the kids and went home. Jed and Shannon stayed to visit with a friend and see a few more sites while there. Luckily there were a lot more good memories to out way the bad sick ones. We had a great time and next time we will leave the sick out and add some more fun trips to the vacation.
