Eight is Grrrreat!

Has it really been 8years since I gave birth three months early to this little girl?? Is she even a little girl anymore, or more like a young girl? Recently for school, I needed to describe Kelci's personality in three words....this was hard. Not hard because I can't describe my kid, but difficult to narrow the choices down.
Here is the final list:

1. Reserved ~ Kelci is a bit quiet and shy around people she is not comfortable with. The people she is most comfortable with is her family. She is always asking to go to Fairfield to see family, cousins, etc. She can hardly wait to go to Hawaii in two weeks to see Kya and Lucy...oh and Collai. I say reserved though, because she doesn't hold back when she around people she is comfortable with, anything goes.

2.Feisty ~ My little tiny Kelci has a temper...oh wow does she have a short fuse. I know where she gets it to. HEHE! I know this was something that pulled her through her first fights early on for her own little life. I know this will help her stand up and make good choices later.

3. Honest ~ I don't know if that is the best word, because believe me she has lied numerous times about brushing her teeth, or putting clothes away. But if there is something on her mind, she will share her thoughts no matter what they are. They are always surprising and keep me laughing. I always know I can get an opinion out of this kid and I love that.

All she wanted for her birthday was her slumber party, this is something the kids can do when they turn eight. Kelci could hardly sleep the night before her party. It was so much fun, we painted pillowcases, made human pyramids, watched Hannah Montana, the movie of course, had to put up with Daddy replaying the hoedown scene over and over again, had ice cream sundaes, and built tents that just fell down anyways.

Of course her next big event is her baptism this coming Saturday, Sept.5th. She keeps talking about it, and is just hoping that Daddy doesn't drop her in the water!! Yes, she did say that, and that is a perfect example of Kelci! We love you and I feel privileged to be her mom. Eight years ago, I prayed over her tiny, frail, body that I would have a chance to get to know her and raise her, and I was blessed with a miracle and love every minute of it.
