We learned quickly on the airplanes that people really only think of themselves despite others around them ~ thanks to the man that was offered a first class seat so we could have a little more and he turned it down with a kind, "oh no thanks, I'm fine really." I almost threw some money in his face to get him to move, Brody was on the plane at that point for 5 minutes and already loosing his marbles and we had 4 hours and 45 minutes to go. Oh but I have to mention that the lady in front of me thought it would be comfortable for her to recline her seat the entire 4 hrs and 45 minutes, despite Brody on my lap hitting it a million times and me almost falling everytime I tried to get out of my seat with him, oh I should mention she never even slept. All I'm thinking can we put it up just for a little bit....urghhh!! You can imagine the relief when we finally arrived in Raleigh North Carolina.
I didn't take enough pictures, isn't that always the case. The state of North Carolina is just beautiful. Everywhere we went I wanted to take out the camera, but it wasn't always the right moment. Everything is lush and green, ivy grows up trees and just creates this beautiful backdrop, most of the houses look like something on a cute little postcard. I was sad that the trees hadn't started to change yet, that doesn't really start to happen until October, but it was still an awesome sight.
Here are few pictures of the memories we made, I think kids will remember this trip for a long time and for me, it just makes it all worth it.
Kelci, Emery, and there cousin Shania, these girls were always together.
Here is what Brody looked like after being in North Carolina for five minutes.
Fuzzy's is a great BBQ place to eat at, it was delicious.
It was a lot of fun to ride the 4-wheelers around the back of the property. They have a little wooded area, open fields with wild flowers growing, and on occasion you can see some deer. I even took a little driving lesson from Bryan, which is a little scary because earlier in the week he caused Shania and Emery to roll off the back of theirs. I know it sounds scary, but everybody was fine, they were not actually moving at the time.
We took some time on Saturday to go to the Natural Science Discovery Museum. It was a fun place to take the kids, they had a great time. It had so many different kinds of animals, tigers, snakes, goats, meerkats, and even some fish.
This is Granny's stepdad Johnny, Granny (Bryan's Grandma), Karen, Kelci, and Ron.
After one of the family dinners one night, we started a fire to roast marshmallows. The kids thought that this was great!
This is proof that I was actually on this trip because I just realized I didn't have very many pictures of me, but that is how it goes with the mommies.
Thank you to Kim & Ricky for putting us up in there home for 4 nights, we had a blast and loved the pillow talk!!
Okay, I think this is the end to my very long post...that took a long time!

How fun for you guys! We have YET to take an airplane ride with our kiddos. Glad you survived with your sense of humor in tact, though.
How fun! I can't believe those people on the plane. What's wrong with people? You should've taken the first class seat and left Bryan with all of the kids in coach. I'm sure he woulda loved that! Were there even movies or anything to keep the kids busy on the plane? I love those flights where you get tv on demand - but that is rare. Now, we've gotta plan our trip to Hawaii for next year!
That looks so fun and crazy. I've wanted to roast marshmellows all summer but we just haven't had a fire to do it on, that's life in the city.
I love seeing all your photos....I know you guys love going back there. Im glad you survived the trip but more importantly you had an accurate head count when you finially got home.
I cant believe Granny's stepdad is still around that's really neat to see. I know you were just a little busy at your house today :) but Im happy that you blogged. I missed you
What fun! Good job, you guys deserve lots of kudos for your brave adventure!
Looks like so much fun. Sorry for you troubles in the airplane - I know how that can be. N. Carolina looks beautiful and green.
